6. Low Powder Transfer Efficiency and Increased Powder Consumption

Excessive powder overspray occurs, recessed areas of workpieces receive insufficient powder, and powder consumption per unit area increases.

Mismatch between powder resistivity and spraying equipment; improper coordination between electrostatic voltage, atomizing air pressure, and powder output.

Adjust electrostatic voltage (generally 60–80 kV) and atomizing air pressure while observing the powder cloud condition at the spray gun outlet. For complex workpiece structures, consider using friction spray guns to improve penetration. Also check whether powder has expired or absorbed moisture, resulting in reduced charging performance.
