(2) Evaluate Production Line Capabilities: If the production line can only withstand 180°C, confirm whether the supplier offers a low-temperature curing version or evaluate the feasibility of extending the baking time, such as 180°C × 25 minutes, which requires experimental verification.
4. Insufficient Flexibility
Problem: When the workpiece is bent or subjected to impact, the coating is prone to cracking and peeling.
Cause: To achieve high hardness and high weather resistance, rigid structural monomers are introduced into the formulation, resulting in excessive cross-linking density of the coating film and sacrificing flexibility and impact resistance, creating a conflict between “high hardness and low toughness.”
Solutions:
(1) Verification Before Bending: If the workpiece needs to be bent after coating, be sure to test the bending and impact resistance of the coating in advance.
(2) Select a Balanced Formulation: Select a formulation containing flexible monomers such as HDO and LHDA. Such products can achieve a good balance between hardness, such as ≥2H, and toughness, such as T-bend ≤1T.
5. Staining of Bright Colors
